Focus on EU Anti-Poverty Strategy and disability inclusion, with discussions, networking, and strategic sessions for regional and local authorities.
In collaboration with the Lombardy Region and CBM Italy, the European Network of Social Authorities (ENSA) held its General Assembly 2025–2026 and associated activities, entitled “Innovation in Action”, on 2 December 2025 at the Lombardy Regional Office in Brussels.
This year, the Assembly focused on the EU’s Anti-Poverty Strategy, with a special emphasis on the significant challenges faced by persons with disabilities. The event brought together regional and local authorities, disability advocates, service providers, and European networks to share experiences, discuss solutions, and explore innovative approaches to inclusion.
The morning session examined how municipalities and regions can remove structural barriers, foster participation, and tackle poverty at its roots, while exploring the intersections between disability and poverty across Europe.
The afternoon session convened the ENSA network for strategic guidance and coordination, enabling both longstanding and new members to define shared priorities, strengthen synergies, and build future partnerships.
Parallel sessions featured discussions with the Italian Chamber of Commerce, GAL Prealpi, and the Municipality of Belluno on social and digital transitions, alongside a consortium meeting for the Erasmus+ SACRED project (Sharing and Caring for At-Risk Elderly with Dementia and Disability), providing opportunities for interaction and knowledge exchange.
