Future Meetings

Twentieth anniversary of the International Year of the Family 2014
(Brussels, Committee of the Regions, 5-8 June 2012)

The Doha International Institute for Family Studies and Development (DIIFSD), the International Federation for Family Development (IFFD) and the Committee of the Regions, in partnership with the United Nation Focal Point on the Family ( UNDESA), are organising a raise awareness meeting and a European Expert Group meeting on the subject of "Confronting family poverty and social exclusion; ensuring work-family balance; advancing social integration and intergenerational solidarity in Europe", which will be held 5-8 June at the Committee of the Regions.

The event is convened as part of preparations for the 20th anniversary of the International Year of the Family, 2014: the final report of the expert group meeting as well as expert papers will be used as an input for the 2012 Report of the Secretary-General, which will be submitted to the General Assembly at its sixty-eight session through the Commission for Social Development and at the Economic and Social Council.

The Veneto Region, through the ELISAN network, the Regional Ministry of Social Affairs and the Regional Observatory on Social Policies, will be offering its contribution to the Brussels meeting. Barbara Trentin (ELISAN Steering Committee Director) will present the importance of Regional Family policies with a highlight on an innovative European process of human resources management with the Audit project focusing on reconciliation between work and family.

Solidarity between generations

Taking into account that this year 2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations, ENSA-Y will discuss about this topic in their last meeting that will take place in Valencia (Spain). In the meeting we will know some initiatives in this field and we will discuss about potential projects.

European Conference on Reconciliation between private and professional life

The Elisan Network, the Regional Ministry for social policies of the Veneto Region and the Regional Observatory on Social Policies have the pleasure to invite you to the European conference on the subject of reconciliation between private and professional life.
The event will take place in Padua on February 10th 2012.

The aim of the meeting is to promote an innovative organisation of human resources in work, in enterprises, in the public and private sector in order to answer family flexibility needs.
